class="wp-block-list">

Train: The scenic trip on the Reunification Express takes about 2.5 hours. Travel to Ninh Binh by train, we think, is the best option because you can see beautiful landscape from the train. You can book directly with Vietnam Railway (VNR), but the website (we think) is very difficult to book. In fact, many Vietnamese book the tickets on the platfom called Momo. You can also come to the train station at Le Duan street (just around 1 km from the Old quarter of Hanoi), but sometimes the tickets are sold, especially during the holiday season like Tet holiday, May 1st, or September 2th. That’s why we recommend you to check the train tickets with12GO platform. The last thing is: please keep in mind that the Central Train Station is at Le Duan Street, which is different one named Long Bien Train Station (this one you go to Hai Phong).

Bus: Numerous buses leave Giap Bat Station, taking around 2 hours. Booking tickets in advance is recommended. Also many travel companies arrange tickets to Ninh Binhf from Hanoi, mostly the pickup point is near Tran Nhuat Duat street and 172 Tran Quang Khai street.

Private Car: Offers greater flexibility and shorter travel (about 1.5 hours). Many drivers can highlight local landmarks en route. It’s best to check with your hotel/hostel/airbnb host.

<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" It’s very important to check the gears (and of course, the helmets), and ask for raincoats, because the weather in Vietnam changes all the time, especially during summer. Most of the time, the gasoline tank is empty. The owners will tell you where the nearest gas stations are, then you can go and start your adventure.

Guests often make the mistake of filling too much gasoline for one day. We recommend filling only 1 or 2 liters, which costs around 30,000 VND to 60,000 VND at the time of writing (March 2026).

Must-Visit Attractions and Experiences

1.
