Saving the animals – 1 delicious Bahn mi at a time
“Incredible vegan restaurant. Such hard-working staff aims to provide delicious vegan food for the price of street food. Only a very small restaurant with a few tables but doesn’t seem to get too busy. They are very passionate about the environment and animals, as indicated by the menu and the art decor that they have. A must-visit for vegetarians and vegans looking for yummy food in Hanoi.” – Ben from TripAdvisor
Banh Mi Hai Phong
One of my favorite Banh mi sandwiches is Banh Mi Hai Phong, sold by a Vietnamese lady in front of the Dong Xuan market from 4 PM to 8 PM. She operates a small vendor and charges only 10,000 VND per Banh mi. Despite its affordable price, the taste is undoubtedly the best in the city.
She shared stories that she sells 700 Banh mi every day in just 4 hours. Many people tend to buy 5 or 10 small Banh mi as the size is just one or two bites! If you want to get the vegan option, please ask her by saying “toi an chay” and she will be happy to make the vegan one for you.
