At Onetrip With Local, every great walking tour begins with a great story. And behind every story is a passionate local host.

We are delighted to introduce Vi Giang, one of the newest members of our hosting team, who has recently started welcoming guests on our Coffee, History and Architecture of the French Quarter Tour in Hanoi.
Speaking Vietnamese, English and Chinese, Giang brings not only her language skills but also her enthusiasm, humour and curiosity about the city she calls home.
From Autumn Training to Hosting Real Experiences
Every autumn, as Hanoi welcomes cooler weather and more international visitors, we prepare our team for the new travel season.
Our Autumn 2026 training programme brought together new hosts to learn about Hanoi’s history, local culture, coffee traditions and the art of storytelling.
But being a great local host takes more than memorising historical dates or knowing the names of famous landmarks. It is about understanding the stories behind the streets, connecting with people from different cultures and making history feel alive.

After learning alongside our experienced hosts, Giang has now started leading her own tours. It is always a special moment for our team to see new hosts take their first steps and share what they have learned with international travellers.
Discovering Hanoi Through Coffee, History and Architecture
The French Quarter is one of Hanoi’s most fascinating neighbourhoods. Its wide boulevards, elegant colonial buildings, historic landmarks and hidden cafés reveal different chapters of the city’s past.

On our French Quarter walking tour, guests explore the relationship between Vietnamese culture and French colonial influences, discovering how the city has evolved through different historical periods.
The experience begins with a cup of authentic Vietnamese coffee in a charming old French villa, where guests get an introduction to Vietnamese history and culture.
Along the way, the journey takes us past landmarks such as St. Joseph’s Cathedral, Hoan Kiem Lake, Hanoi Opera House, the Hanoi Metropole Hotel and other architectural treasures.
Yet the most memorable moments are often found between the landmarks: a conversation about Vietnamese daily life, an interesting story about an old building, or a local perspective that you might never find in a guidebook.
This is where hosts like Giang make a difference.
More Than a Tour Guide: A Local Storyteller
Recently, one of our guests shared a lovely review after joining Giang’s tour:
“Giang is a fantastic and funny tour guide! She shared great stories about coffee and French colonial architecture while we took a relaxing stroll through the Old Quarter. Highly recommended!”
Reading feedback like this makes us incredibly happy. It reminds us why we invest time in training, developing and supporting our local hosts.
We believe that travelling is not just about visiting famous places. It is about meeting people, exchanging perspectives and understanding a destination through the eyes of someone who lives there.
For Giang, every tour is an opportunity to share a little piece of Hanoi with the world, whether in English, Chinese or Vietnamese.
Growing Together, Sharing More Local Stories
At Onetrip With Local, we are proud to see our Autumn 2026 trainees gradually becoming confident hosts and storytellers.
Our mission has always been to connect travellers with local people, culture and stories. We want every guest to leave Hanoi with more than photographs. We hope they take home a deeper understanding of the city and the people who make it special.

A big thank you to Giang and all our hosts for bringing these experiences to life.
And if you are planning to visit Hanoi, come and explore the French Quarter with us. There is always another story waiting around the corner.
