I had to reschedule my tour and the team was able to accommodate my last request and I am so thankful for that. This 'hidden tour' was exactly what I was looking for. Sure you can do walking tours on your own, but what I value most out of this tour was the one-on-one session (I was lucky to be the only one for this slot) with a real local. It's truly an eye opener and I really learned a lot - it's little things that regular instatourists might not care for - a local's story and insight, and it's truly fascinating. From the history, to the daily and gritty parts of Hanoi, ranging from funeral arrangements - down to the secret ingredient in their sugar cane juice - things you don't really know unless you talk to a local. That's what I'm here for. This is what travelling means to me, and these are what makes my travels invaluable. Vu was a really amazing guide and you can tell this is his passion. I won't hesitate to sign up for more tours with this group.
We had a very interesting and nice tour with Vu. Vu speaks very well english and is superfriendly. We visited some hidden places in the old town and got a lot of information. we also tried some vietnamese coffee and streetfood 🙂 we can highly recommend the tour!

The tour was very well organised and we got the chance to visit hidden places. Vu was an excellent guide, he has great knowledge about the history of Vietnam. We went first to a rooftop bar then we explored how locals live, the market, pagoda, train station, the bridge and the streets in the old quarter. This tour is an excellent choice to walk around this part of the city.

We visited the highest rooftop bar in the Old Quarter to watch the overview of the city. Our tour also included a visit to a local Vietnamese art cafe, which was once where the local artists met back in the 1990s. Then, we visited the local doughnut shop run by an old lady. And we explored the smallest and longest alley in the Old Town, learning about the real life of local people. You would be surprised at how they can live in such a tiny space in the city centre!
We usually get together in a small group of 4-6 people. This helps create an open environment for discussing and asking questions. Our host is always happy to answer any questions you have. Our host Kien was excellent. He held a fascinating discussion that our group really enjoyed. I highly recommend this tour to not only see different areas of Hanoi (how some locals live), but to also learn more about the history within Hanoi.

Sampling the delicious sweet and savoury donuts straight from the woman's stall and a drink on the top floor of a hotel with views over the city were both unexpected bonuses.
My guide Diep is super friendly. We had a good conversation about life in Vietnam, especially living in Hanoi. Our first stop at a rooftop café provided an amazing view of the city. And I enjoyed trying an egg coffee for the first time. Especially want to think my guide for walking me back to my residence, which was very kind of him.

We are interested in the 6pm tour tonight starting from the sky bar. Do you have lots of availability? We are going on a tour at 10am this morning that is all day in Hanoi. I’d like to book it now but I see it is non-refundable, and I would want to make sure we make it back from our day tour in time. What would happen if we couldn’t be there right at 6pm? I’m sure we could be but traffic here has proven hectic! Our tour today ends at the opera house and then we’d have to go to a hotel to get rid of our luggage since your tour is a walking tour, so thought I’d ask first how much available you have tonight so we know if we have a good chance if we book it later today once we gauge how long we will be today, please advice thank you. Also I do not have access to messenger unless I’m near Wi-Fi. I should have Wi-Fi for the next 15 mins though.

Regarding the dress code, it is important to be mindful when entering religious sites such as temples, pagodas, and churches. However, when joining our tour, you only need to wear comfortable clothes and shoes.
